Google 101 Search

I help people learn how to use Google to help their businesses, and part of it involves teaching you how to search, and evaluate what’s going on in your market.

Some hints and tips. These all go in the ‘search box’ on Google.

Find all the pages Google has for your site. This is useful if you have been hacked and maybe have unsavory content attached to your site, or if you have upgraded your web site, but didn’t remove the old pages, and old info on your company keeps surfacing.

Find the pages that have your phone number. This search is interesting because it will help you find information that needs to be updated or cleaned up.  These are 3 separate searches. Include the quote marks, since that tells it that you want the exact info.

“(210)-862-1442″
“210.862.1442″

Find the pages that have an exact set of words. This search helps when you need to find something more exactly. Again, use the quotes.
