Domains
Make sure you know where your domain name is registered, and who or how it will be renewed. If you’ve changed email providers, you may not see the renewal notice, and you can easily lose your domain. If someone else registered your domain, and you are not on speaking terms, or they are dead, or offshore, there is a protocol for getting a domain back under your control. It can be time consuming.
Hosting
Most hosting providers offer some way to reach them. Email or phone or chat. Most hosting providers will also have technical difficulties occasionally. To get 100% uptime is very expensive.
Graphics
When you have your logo prepared for you, request the original art files. They may be in files you can’t open, but they are important when we do your web site.
Photos
It’s good to know where your photos come from on your web site. Pulling them off someone else’s web site is not the best plan. For products you are selling, you can usually use the distributors photos. Asking first is best.
Email
There are lots of options out there. If you have someone helping your office with a server, you may have special settings that have to be taken into consideration when we work with your web site.
